OBJECTS ARE BY x Polaroid: KEYS: MILAN portrait book release at Sogni

During Milan Design Week 2025, OBJECTS ARE BY unveiled an ambitious and culturally resonant publication in collaboration with the legendary camera company Polaroid, a project that deftly bridges the worlds of contemporary design and analog nostalgia. This striking volume, produced in a limited edition, is a curated collection of nearly 200 intimate Polaroid portraits capturing the essence of Milan’s most influential and forward-thinking creatives. Each portrait serves as both a document and a tribute, chronicling figures who define the city’s creative identity across an extraordinary spectrum of disciplines.

From fashion to architecture, from the culinary arts to the streets, the book offers a rare cross-section of Milan’s vibrant cultural ecosystem. Visionaries featured include the creative directors behind globally renowned fashion houses such as Sunnei and Zegna, as well as luminary architects like Piero Lissoni and Massimiliano Locatelli. Interspersed among them are graffiti artists, experimental chefs, gallerists, and interdisciplinary makers, individuals whose practices collectively shape the narrative of a city in perpetual reinvention. The Polaroid medium, with its signature immediacy and tactility, lends each image an emotional gravity and authenticity that transcends digital photography.

The book’s release was marked by an elegant and intimate gathering held at Sogni, one of Milan’s most refined culinary destinations. This upscale Italian restaurant provided an ideal backdrop for the event, its sophisticated yet unpretentious ambiance mirroring the ethos of both the book and the OBJECTS ARE BY brand. The launch drew a diverse crowd of artists, designers, collectors, and editors, each drawn not only by the allure of the publication but also by its deeper mission: to document the living, breathing pulse of Milanese creativity through the lens of an iconic medium, at a singular moment in time.
